One Pack of Chafer Grub Killer Nematodes contains 50 million nematodes suitable for an area of 100mÂČ (10m x 10m). Scarify and spike the lawn before application for increased effectiveness. Apply early morning or late evening onto a moist lawn, as nematodes dislike UV light and dry conditions. Store unopened packs in the fridge and use by the best before date. Each pack includes full instructions.
What are Chafer Grubs?
Chafer grubs are the larvae of the adult Chafer Beetle, emerging in May and June. They feed on grass roots, leading to yellow patches. Damage is often caused by wildlife digging for these protein-rich grubs. Overwintering occurs as larvae in the soil, active between August and April.
How Nematodes Help
This Chafer Grub Killer contains 50 million Heterohabditis bacteriophora, which enter grubs and introduce bacteria that kills them. Apply from July to October, when grubs are close to the surface.
Application Instructions
- Mix 50 million nematodes in 5L of water to create a concentrated solution.
- Mix 0.5L of this solution into an 8L watering can and water the lawn.
- Keep the lawn damp for up to two weeks after application.
Ensure soil temperature is above 5ÂșC (40ÂșF) for effective results. Store nematodes in the fridge and apply by the use-by date for best outcomes.
